They don't necessarily have to be Nuristani to look like this. Freckles, light hair and bright eyes are pretty common in Afghanistan, just look here: [link]

Especally people from the Khattak and the Ghilzai tribe are really caucasian-looking.

Nuristani, right?

In Afghanistan the Nuristanis commonly have red or blond hair, and green or blue eyes.

Blue and green eyes are quite common in afghanistan. Especially amongst the pathan group and hazara that have mixed with pathans. Blonfe hair is also very common.

Something there is messed up lol How on earth is that possible? I have never seen anyone from that region of the world that looks like that, I am guessing no one in Iran has freckles and green eyes? Just....strange. How old was he, do you know?

I know this is so late for a reply but we do have people with freckles and green eyes and red hair iv seen it its not common but there are iv seen it in my family there are green eyes more than blue and I used to have freckles on my face when I was kid and I have red hair well half of my brother and sisters do. back home in school kids used to call me carrot head :( lol i was kind of embarrassed by my hair back then :D and as for afghan boy in the picture he has a Russian look so I am guessing during the soviet invasion of Afghanistan some stuff might have happened.

there were some kids like him too,they had green & blue eyes but not afghan-looking! agree its strange...
in Iran there r many amber eyes and blue too,but there rnt too many green color eye...
he was 13years old
